Hard Disk Storage
Disk space refers to the amount of server disk storage your account is allocated. This space is used to store your HTML files, graphics, audio clips, POP e-mail messages, and all other files that make up your Web site. Each of our shared servers includes a specified allotment of disk storage space.


Monthly Transfer

Also known as your Web Traffic or Bandwidth. Each time visitors access a Web page, image, audio, video or other element on your site, traffic is generated. Your aggregate traffic is the sum of all in-and-out-bound traffic (Web, e-mail and FTP).

POP E-mail Accounts

Post Office Protocol (POP) is a method of retrieving e-mail from a server. Each of our blueHALO hosting packages comes with unique POP e-mail accounts, in addition to e-mail forwarding. You have the option to retrieve e-mail directly from POP mailboxes on the mail server using an e-mail program such as Eudora. Your POP e-mail accounts can be instantly created from the Web control panel included with all shared server packages. Each of our hosting plans include a specific number of POP e-mail boxes, but additional boxes can be purchased for any account that is in need of a higher allotment.


E-mail Aliases

An alias account is a type of e-mail "pointer" that receives e-mail at a specified address and redirects it someplace else. An alias is an e-mail address that forwards its mail to a specified mailbox, masking the true name of the mailbox in which the mail is actually received. For example, sales@macsurf.com could be an e-mail alias for macsurf@aol.com . Add, edit, or remove aliases using the Web-based control panel.


E-mail Autoresponders

An automated e-mail reply sent in response to each incoming message for a specific e-mail address. For example, you can use an auto-response to automatically send every customer who contacts you via e-mail a standard "Thank You" e-mail response. E-mail Autoresponders can also be referred to as a vacation message.

Virus and Spam Protection

Mail Filtration System screens for spam and viruses on both inbound and outbound e-mail. It checks incoming mail for viruses, destroys infected messages to prevent infection and marks those identified as spam for easy filtration to maximize the efficiency of your e-mail system.

PHPMyadmin

phpMyAdmin is a tool written in PHP intended to handle the administration of MySQL® over the Web. Currently it can create and drop databases, create/drop/alter tables, delete/edit/add fields, execute any SQL statement, manage keys on fields.

Urchin Web Stats

Urchin is a web analytics software package. In essence, it analyzes cookie-fortified web server log files, puts the pertinent information in a database, and delivers dynamically-generated browser-based reports. With the introduction of the Urchin Tracking Module (UTM®) in Urchin 4, Urchin becomes the most accurate unique visitor tracking system available, more so than any outsourced (ASP-type) analytics solution. The UTM uses a first-party cookie (between your visitors and your server), in conjunction with a bit of javascript and a 1x1 pixel image, that does not violate privacy or set off security alarms. Use of the UTM is optional but strongly recommended for optimal reporting.
